Rodney and team at Mackens; as well as providing outstanding quality of produce they also have an awareness of and care for their customers. Particular reason for the nomination is the support over the past years with contributions to the Mid Chiswick Rose Garden parties helping build and consolidate the local community

Reason
I would like to nominate my daughter M who works tirelessly across local schools counselling young people. She regularly supports children at risk of suicide self harm and abuse. She is a mum with 3 children identified with special needs and always manages to be there for the rest of the family giving time and practical support particularly to me when my husband died a few years ago
Act of Kindness
M gives freely of her time to others in need of comfort and a listening ear. M generosity is in time and allowing others a space to talk.

Reason
I’d like to nominate Sophie Clowes who has been braving the winter waters of the tidal Thames in Chiswick every day during December for the past three years raising money for The Felix Project. Out in all weathers with waters sometimes dipping as low as 1C degree - even storm Darragh didn’t get the better of her this week! It’s not the cold temperatures or storm but Thames Water’s pollution which means she has to occasionally relocate to the Serpentine to keep to her daily challenge.
